  • Someday I'd like to have a washing machine that's not at knee-level.

  • Artists should have websites indicating where their works are on display, the way musicians' websites list upcoming shows.
  • Why is stand-up comedy in movies always so terrible?
  • Nothing kills the vibe at a restaurant bar like a laptop.

Memorial Daze

I was walking by the 9/11 Memorial this morning when a British jogger stopped me.

Jogger: Are you American?

Me: Yep.

Jogger: May I ask a question? Is this Memorial Sunday?

Me: I don't think so....

Jogger: I mean, because this is the Memorial holiday.

Me: Oh, I thought you were talking about the 9/11 Memorial. Tomorrow is Memorial Day, the holiday. This is Memorial Day weekend.

Jogger: So if I said, "This is Memorial Sunday"—

Me: No one would know what you're talking about. This is "the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend."

Jogger: Are you a lawyer?
